A Beautiful Display

Wally and I are All-In with our Clemson Tigers, so most Saturdays find us either at the game or cheering from home. This last weekend was no exception, but it did provide an unexpected blessing!

With its military history, Clemson chooses a home game in November as Military Appreciation Day. God painted a spectacular fall day as the backdrop for honoring those who have served, are serving, and those who have given their lives for our country.

Four F-16s opened the day-

With a display of the strength and power of our military and those who serve!

Our flag was carried in by parachute-

As a reminder of the great lengths to which we go to fight for and preserve freedom.

Throughout the game, we celebrated decorated warriors and heard from those around the world currently serving.

At halftime a memorial including a 21-Gun Salute and Taps was rendered for those who have given all. Would you take a few moments today to remember . . .

The day overwhelmed me- with this beautiful display of love for country.

It impressed me- with the responsibility I have not to take my citizenship or pride in America for granted.

So today I’m bringing back a PIC that I shared on Memorial Day-

And as Veteran’s Day nears, another PIC for those on active duty-

Slide2

I’m asking God to remind me to be diligent with the instruction of 1 Timothy 2:1-

To offer prayers and thanksgiving for all people, especially those who lead and serve the United States of America. This is my duty and great privilege as one who is proud of the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Should you be reading today as an active soldier, veteran, or family to one of these- may I offer you my humble gratitude for your service . . . for your beautiful display . . . of life and love and sacrifice!
