The Space for Grace

Today I’m sharing a Daily PIC that has been in my prayer journal many times before but that I’ve recently reinserted.

It’s a verse that I first began to pray as the kids grew into young adults with their sites set on destinations that were farther away and bigger than this mama was sure they and she could handle-

  • As Katie headed for college summers in California on mission with CRU and Upward Sports,
  • As Graham trekked to Colorado on mission with CRU,
  • As Taylor began the long journey of med-school and then residency,
  • As they moved to cities away from us to live and work and find their own lives-

I have prayed 2 Corinthians 9:8 over them.Slide4 Continue reading “The Space for Grace”

More than These?

This week I’m finishing the final Bible study assignments in Jennie Allen’s study Proven. The last session dives into John 21, as we join Jesus making his third and final appearance to his disciples before ascending to heaven. Luke 2:52 is a short and simple verse- describing the way Jesus grew, during the time his care was entrusted here on this earth to earthly parents and extended family. Outside My Window

At my core, I’m an introvert. IĀ  need and enjoy moments of quiet when I can find them. I remember as a child, sitting at my bedroom window, content to watch the world outside.

And I find myself repeating this pattern even now. I go to the living room every morning for my quiet time, and if I’m not careful, time can get away from me as I gaze out the window, watching and listening to the world wake and the day dawn. Continue reading “Outside My Window”
