Mobile Mondays

I’m learning that Mobile Mondays is time well-spent!

Every second Monday, I volunteer for my local chapter of Meals on Wheels which provides a daily meal and visit to the homebound in my community. I first learned of this from my mama who would take me with her during the summer to either help pack or deliver meals.

This is the Day

For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved words- how they work together in phrases and sentences, with definition and sound- how they succinctly make a point or express a creative thought to ponder- to me it’s a beautiful thing!

img_1590I have loved and collected books that capture the beauty of words and can remember getting albums like Tapestries of Life by Guideposts from my Aunt Animeda, another lover of words, of phrases, of poetry, and writing that made you think.

I guess for almost as long, I’ve had a desire to bring words into my life- either through study, teaching, or to simply read and enjoy.  Also, burning faintly in the background was the desire to bring my own words to life- in some way or form- but I never really quite knew the avenue or means to make that happen.

The Bounty of Jesus

I’ve just started the Bible study, Proven, by Jennie Allen. In the first week of study, we focused on finding fulfillment in Jesus, the one who has come to give us life- abundant and full. (John 10:10)

Jennie challenges us to consider this point about ourselves- while we know that Jesus is life- abundant and full, it’s not something that we live into on a daily basis. In fact, we have a tendency to wear ourselves out- striving to create or to find our life, our measure, our fulfillment.
