Seamless- Understanding the Bible as Once Complete Story is a Bible study for women by Angie Smith. This study is one that brings to life God’s story of the Bible in chronological order so that from beginning to end the purpose of God- to redeem man and restore relationship with him for His own glory- is beautifully and simply understood, both for the seasoned Bible student and for those new to their faith and the study of God’s Word.

This 7-session study begins with an Introduction that allows participants to get to know one another as well as Angie Smith. This is followed with 6 weeks of study that are divided into 5 weekly homework segments. Each week the group gathers to discuss homework and view a short video teaching by Angie.

There are many strengths of this study-

Women will be quickly drawn to the heartfelt sincerity of Angie Smith. Her love for God and His Word is immediately evident as is her sincere desire to share that with each woman accompanying her through this study. Women at all places in their walks with the LORD will feel welcome and at home with Angie.

The homework assignments direct participants directly to God’s Word. There is a good balance of scripture reading, answering questions, and commentary/explanation from Angie. The average time spent each day on assignments averages 30 minutes for most students.

The creative use of maps and icons to chart God’s story from Genesis to Revelation is very helpful. The scope of the study is wide, but the visual aides are an effective tool for charting the journey and remembering it as well.

The leader guide is included in the participant’s guide. This allows all to be prepared and on the same page for the group gathering. Specific questions from the daily homework assignments are included in this guide. This leader friendly help ensures that group time focuses on the key truths from each day’s work.

The study itself is a time friendly one. Video sessions run no longer than 17 minutes, so there is ample time for prayer, homework discussion, video viewing, and closing discussion within the 1 ½ to 2 hour time frame that most women are able to give for group meeting time.

The only challenge with this study may come as it is introduced to seasoned students of the Word who feel they know well the story of the Bible. This audience approached the study with doubt that it would be beneficial for them. God was faithful to affirm that there is always more to be gained from the Bible each time we study its story of redemption.

Seamless leaves participants in awe of God’s perfect story and how it is beautifully and completely woven together without error or blemish from beginning to end. Its message is timeless for all who encounter it, whether new to the faith or having walked the journey for a lifetime.

Women will come away with the desire to bring God’s story to those who have not heard- to remove the barrier that our own study methods and groups can unintentionally put in the way of those who desperately need to hear the good news of the gospel- God’s story of redemption through Jesus Christ.
